Passengers arriving in Macao by air or sea from parts of mainland China other than Zhuhai are now required to undergo a free nucleic acid test (NAT) immediately upon arrival.
The new measure, which took effect at 1 am yesterday in response to Covid-19 developments in mainland China, comes on top of the requirement to present a 7-day valid NAT before boarding.
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre said that travellers are now also required to undergo at least one NAT, costing MOP 50, at their own expense within two days after arriving in Macao.
Currently, Macao runs passenger ferry services to Wanzai in Zhuhai and Shekou in Shenzhen.
All travellers entering Macao from Zhuhai must display a NAT certificate confirming a negative Covid-19 result valid for 48 hours.
