The government-appointed Macau Grand Prix Committee (MGPC) announced Tuesday that the 61st Macau Grand Prix will be held on November 13-16 with an overall budget of about 190 million patacas.
MGPC Co-ordinator Joao Manuel Costa Antunes made the announcement at a press conference to reveal details of the annual motor-racing contest.
After the press conference held at Fisherman’s Wharf the committee also signed a deal with Suncity Group, which appoints the junket operator as the event’s title sponsor.
According to information provided by the committee , the 61st Macau Grand Prix will comprise seven competitions including Suncity Group Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix and for the 20th time the official FIA Formula 3 International Cup.
Talking to reporters after the press conference, Costa Antunes said that he expected the overall budget for the event to be about 190 million patacas while the committee expected the total income to be about 43 million patacas, including 28 million patacas from sponsors – 16.6 million patacas from Suncity and 1.54 million patacas from telecom operator CTM, while the remainder would come from the sale of tickets, merchandise and advertising amounting to 15 million patacas.
