Macau, China, 19 Nov – Formula 3 Euro Series champion Edoardo Mortara is in Macau where he aims to take a back-toback victory.
This weekend’s Macau Grand Prix is the most prestigious event on the junior single-seater calendar, where Formula 3 champions from around the world come to compete.
Previous winners include Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Mortara. No one has ever won it twice.
With a second place in 2008 and victory in 2009, the 23-year-old already enjoys the most impressive record of any driver at this demanding 6.2km street circuit, which has hosted Formula 3 racing since 1983. At 2mins 10.732secs, Mortara also holds the lap record.
For the third year running, Mortara will race for the French Signature team and, for the second year in Macau, with Volkswagen power.
The Italian took seven victories with Signature-Volkswagen this year when he dominated the F3 Euro Series.
