Inês Chan Lou, who heads the Licensing and Inspection Department of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), will be appointed as the director of the Macao Government Information Bureau (GCS), according to the Macau Post Daily today.
The paper, quoting government sources, said that Chan will take over from Victor Chan Chi Ping “soon”.
Inês Chan Lou currently heads the MGTO Licensing and Inspection Department and has been, since January, the voice of MGTO in the Novel Coronavirus Coordination Centre’s daily press conferences on COVID-19.
Victor Chan has been the director of GCS since 2000, and between 2015 and 2019, he was also the Government Spokesperson. Between 1987 and 1999, he worked in Teledifusão de Macau (Macau Broadcasting Company, TDM).
Government sources also said that from July, Victor Chan will move to the office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance.
