Macau, CHina, 15 Apr – Macau’s visitor arrivals in package tours in February 2011 increased slightly by 0.5 percent year-on- year to 446,843, according to figures released by the city’s Statistics and Census Service Thursday.
Visitors from South Korea (25,596), Taiwan (24,895) and India ( 8,374) increased by 85 percent, 16 percent and 61.2 percent, respectively, the figures indicated.
However, visitors from Chinese mainland (332,349), China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (19,880), Japan (19,453) and Malaysia decreased by 1.2 percent, 1.5 percent, 11.4 percent and 9.0 percent, respectively.
In the first two months this year, visitor arrivals in package tours decreased by 1.6 percent year-on-year to 908,904, according to the Statistics and Census Service.
Meanwhile, Macau residents traveling outbound in package tours rose by 2.6 percent year-on-year to 20,724 in February, with the Chinese mainland (69.8 percent of the total) and Malaysia (7.6 percent of the total) being the most popular destinations.
