The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced on Tuesday that the final list of twelve items for Macau’s Intangible Cultural Heritage will be announced by the end of this year.
The announcement was done after a 30-day consultation period during which the IC gathered opinions through various channels.
The public consultation was held between 13th of March and 11th April.
A total of 1,168 opinions were gathered from all sectors of society, with the vast majority acknowledging the value of the 12 recommended items and agreed to their inclusion in the Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The IC compiled and analyzed the opinions collected in the public consultation and is also taking into account the opinions of the Cultural Heritage Council.
IC just concluded the preparation for their report on their opinions of the items to be inscribed on the final Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The report is now available for download on its website.
The 12 items recommended for listing on the Intangible Cultural Heritage List include: Yueju Opera (Cantonese Opera), Herbal Tea Preparation, Wood Sacred Image Sculpture, Cantonese Naamyam (Narrative Songs), Taoist Ritual Music, Festival of Drunken Dragon, Belief and Customs of A-Ma, Belief and Customs of Na Tcha, Macanese Cuisine, Theatre in Patuá, Procession of Our Lord Bom Jesus dos Passos and Procession of Our Lady of Fatima.
