BNU profits up 9.6 percent to US$21 million in first quarter

Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) in Macau, of Portuguese state-owned financial group Caixa Geral de Depósitos, ended the first quarter of 2017 with profits of 168.4 million patacas (US$21.05 million), according to the bank’s quarterly results.

Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) in Macau, of Portuguese state-owned financial group Caixa Geral de Depósitos, ended the first quarter of 2017 with profits of 168.4 million patacas (US$21.05 million), according to the bank’s quarterly results.

Profits for the first three months of this year were an increase of 9.6 percent over the same period of 2016.

The results showed that as of 31 March, the BNU had recorded revenues of 449.1 million patacas and costs of 280.7 million patacas.

The BNU in Macau ended 2016 with profits of 560.5 million patacas, 9.8 percent more than in 2015, according to results for the 2016 financial year published in the Official Bulletin of Macau.
