Macau logged 9.47 million visitor arrivals in the first four months of the year, a year-on-year increase of just 1.6 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced Thursday.
According to a DSEC statement, same-day visitors accounted for 51.9 percent of the total number.
Mainlanders and Hongkongers accounted for 62.8 percent and 23.9 percent of all visitor arrivals in January-April respectively.
In April, Macau recorded 2.39 million visitors, up just 0.7 percent year-on-year.
Visitors from the mainland rose 10.4 percent year-on-year to 1.53 million in April. Visitors from Guangdong accounted for 42.1 percent of all arrivals from the mainland.
Some 39.9 percent of all mainland visitors travelled under the so-called Individual Visit Scheme (IVS).
The remainder were members of tour groups.
Thai visitors rose 20 percent year-on-year to 27,173 in April. Russian visitors increased 21.1 percent to 2,726.(macaunews)
