Taipei-based Mandarin Airlines began Saturday to offer regular flights between the central Taiwan city of Taichung and Macau.
The new service provides seven round-trip flights per week, with a 90-minute one-way flight, according to the carrier.
Taichung Deputy Mayor Tsai Ping-kun and Nantou Magistrate Lee Chao-ching attended a ceremony to mark the new service, in which they expressed hope that it will boost tourism in central Taiwan.
Prior to Saturday’s launch of the service, flights destined for Macau were only available from Taipei in northern Taiwan and Kaohsiung in the south.(macaunews)
