Shoppers and traders are in for a three-day treat this summer at the second Sands Shopping Carnival at the Venetian Cotai Expo.
Following on from the success of the US gaming company’s first carnival last year, the second edition will run from 23-25 July and provide a free business platform for small- or medium-sized enterprises and retailers. It will comprise over 560 booths, an increase of 10 per cent.
Aside from retail, visitors will be able to enjoy other activities, such as an expanded international cuisine food court, shows, lucky draws and games for children.
The event will be co-organised with the Macao Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, Macao Government Tourism Office and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.
The event will also support the government’s “Consume for the Economy” initiative and e-consumption subsidy scheme, The Macau Post Daily reported.

The organisers have underlined that Covid-19 prevention measures will be implemented through temperature checks, crowd size monitoring, the mandatory wearing of facemasks, regular cleaning and sanitisation of public areas and kids’ facilities, and the provision of disinfectants and sanitisers in booths and entry/exit points.
