Oktoberfest Macau kicked off last night at MGM Cotai with all the traditional fun and frolic led by pop stars from Macao and mainland China.
MGM Executive Director Pansy Ho tapped a beer keg to get the party started to tumultuous applause.
Ho said: “MGM has been hosting Oktoberfest Macau since 2009, and has welcomed over 170,000 locals and tourists. As MGM’s signature annual brand event, Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2022 Party Night demonstrates the synergy enlivened by gastronomy, creativity, culture and tourism.”
Ho added: “MGM will continue to create more diverse entertainment experiences, further empowering Macao’s reputation as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’ and ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’.”
Themed Cheers, Macau!, this year’s Oktoberfest is being held at the MGM Theater for the first time – traditionally it has always been held at the Roof Terrace at MGM Macau. The line-up of bands includes award-winning mainland Chinese rockers Tarzan Band, pop stars Liu Wenjun and Fu Xinyao, together with Macao bands Daze in White, Amulets, and Gimme 5.
Oktoberfest runs from 6 pm to 12 am every night until 30 October at the MGM Theater in MGM COTAI. Family Day brunch sessions are also available between 22-23, 29-30 October from 11 am to 3 pm. Admission tickets are on sale at both MGM properties and online. Due to Covid-19 prevention guidelines, everyone attending the event will have to hold a 7-day NAT result.
