Macau International Airport recorded 520,000 passengers in August, a year on year increase of 6.5 percent and a monthly record since its inauguration in 1995, the airport’s management company Companhia do Aeroporto de Macau (CAM) said Monday.
The figures released by CAM also indicate that the air traffic in August reflects an increase in the number of take-offs and landings of 1.4 percent to a total of 3400.
In the statement, CAM said that the 13 percent increase in links to Mainland China and of 6.5 percent to Southeast Asian countries continued to support growth in airport traffic.
CAM is a private company founded in January 1989 and its main shareholders are Macau government, with 55.24 percent and Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau (STDM) with 33.03 percent. (macaunews/macauhub)
