The 4th Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo will start next month, with the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) being its main organiser for the first time.

MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes made the announcement on Thursday during a press conference about the upcoming fair.

The expo, co-organised by the Macau Government Tourist Office and a number of local tourism associations, will be held from September 2-4 at the Venetian in Cotai.
The fair will promote the local tourism industry and its related sectors, provide mainland and international tourism information and set up an exchange platform between the mainland and foreign countries, according to an MGTO statement.

Addressing the press conference, Senna Fernandes said her office would spend seven million patacas on the expo with the remaining expenses to be covered by the other organisers.

The annual fair, which was launched in 2013, was previously co-organised by a number of local tourism associations.
