The Macao International Food Festival (Hengqin Station) and the 2nd Macao Cultural Gastronomy Festival, which were held during the National Day Golden Week holiday, will close tomorrow.

The Macao International Food Festival has run for 11 years, and last year added its Hengqin station to give mainlanders the chance to savour Macao’s different cuisines.

This year the festival was themed “Hengqin-Macao gastronomy search on a trendy FUN island”, comprising over 110 booths. At “Macao Delicacy Street” Zhuhai restaurant operators served Macao dishes such as curried brisket, Portuguese egg tarts, bacalhau balls and other specialities and titbits.

Other culinary delights included mini skewers, hamburgers, mango sticky rice and other cuisines from all over the world.
Besides good food, the festival showcased music performances, games and the traditional art of paper cutting themed “Ten bridges connected, Hengqin-Macao heart to heart”.

The “Hengqin-Macao life craft market” ran concurrently with the two festivals, featuring arts and crafts for sale, reported The Macau Post Daily.
