Macau’s hospitality industry logged an average occupancy rate of 82.3 percent in the first two months this year, up 1.6 percent from a year earlier, according to official statistics.

The number of guests rose 14.4 percent year-on-year to 1.42 million between January and February.

Hotel guests accounted for 30.9 percent of all visitor arrivals in the first two months.

According to The Macau Post Daily the number of guest rooms in the city’s 95 hotels and inns totalled 22,310 at the end of February, an increase of 2,227 rooms (+11.1 percent) year-on-years. Some 63.5 percent of all rooms were in 5-star hotels.

In February the number of guests rose 20.1 percent year-on-year to 721,036. The average length of stay stood at just 1.4 nights.(macaunews)
