Macau, China, 25 Jul – Visitors from Asia made up 97.4 percent of all visitor arrivals in the first half of this year. In the same period of last year Asian visitors accounted for 97.3 percent of all arrivals, The Macau Post Daily reports today.
 
Macau recorded 13.2 million visitor arrivals in the first half of this year, up 8.3 percent year-on-year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced on Friday.

Mainlanders and Hongkongers accounted for 56.4 percent and 28.1 percent of all arrivals, respectively.

Same-day visitor accounted for 54.3 percent of the total number of visitors.

Among Macau ’s major visitor segments, the number of South Korean visitor arrivals increased the most, at 26 percent to 195,384 in the first six months.

The number of visitor arrivals in June stood at 2.18 million, up 15.4 percent year-on-year and down five percent month-on-month.(MacauNews/Tourism)
