A male body was found in a residential flat on Rua do Capão in San Kio district on Tuesday night, according to the Judiciary Police (PJ).

The discovery came in the wake of three suicides in Macao in the space of a week.

The deceased was a local man surnamed Tang in his seventies.

According to the PJ, Tang’s neighbour had noticed a strong odour coming from Tang’s flat and reported it to the police on Tuesday after knocking on Tang’s door and receiving no response. Firefighters arrived at the scene and broke into Tang’s home where they found his corpse – badly decomposed – lying on the living room floor.

According to the PJ, Tang had no injuries that could have been caused by foul play, nor were there any signs of a struggle found at the scene. The cause of death is subject to an official forensic examination, The Macau Post Daily reported.
