To celebrate World Reading Day this Saturday, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) is staging a number of events around the city both this month and next.

At “4.23 Reading in the City”, members of the public will be encouraged to organise reading points at different locations and to participate in different types of reading activities.

The bureau will also co-organise a Guangdong-Macao Half-Hour Reading session with several cities in the Greater Bay Area.

The bureau said that the event’s promotion days will be held on 30 April and 1 May at the Old Courthouse, featuring games, picture book reading, parent-child crafting workshops and children’s picture book exhibitions. The popular book exchange and magazine sales will also be held again.

The bureau pointed out that those who have redeemed the Good Book Exchange Scorecard can swap them for books of the same value at the Old Courthouse and Seac Pai Van Library during the promotion day.

Macao Library Week is organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Education and Youth Development Bureau , the University of Macau Library, and the Macao Library and Information Management Association, The Macau Post Daily reported.
