A total of six Public Security Police (PSP) officers have been arrested on suspicion of organised crime activities, informed the Judiciary Police (PJ).

The statement said the PJ officers apprehended the six law enforcement officers, one of whom had just retired, in co-operation with the Public Security Police.

Speaking to The Macau Post Daily separately on the phone on Thursday night, a PSP spokesperson and a spokesperson for the office of Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak said five PSP officers had been arrested.

According to various sources, the Judiciary Police arrested a number of PSP officers at the PSP headquarters and various police stations on Thursday morning.

The sources also said that the officers were suspected of blackmailing junket operators.
