The Portuguese President Cavaco Silva, during his next Saturday and Sunday visit to Macau, will honour several of its residents according to the Portuguese News Agency-Lusa.

Cavaco Silva will impose the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit to Chief Executive of Macau Chui Sai On.

Before being appointed Chief Executive Chui was secretary for social affairs and culture in Ho Hau Wah government.

In 2001 Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Chief Executive at that time, also receive the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit.

Also on the awardees list is the president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Guilherme Ung  Vai Meng; lawyer Amélia Antonio, president of the House of Portugal; lawyer Rui Cunha President of a Foundation with his name; Jorge Fão a former member of the Legislative Assembly and founder of the Macau Retirees Association and  Pereira Coutinho a direct-elected member of the Macau Legislative Assembly and president of the Macau Civil Servants Association.

According to Lusa Cavaco Silva will also impose a medal to Ambrose Sou Shu Fai, CEO of SJM casino company and Honorary Consul of Portugal in Hong Kong Kong.

Cavaco Silva is visiting China since Monday. He visited already Shanghai and arrived Wednesday in Beijing. (macaunews)
