Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On will meet Guangdong Governor Zhu Xiaodan on Thursday to strengthen ties between the neighbouring regions.
Chui will be attending the 2015 Macau-Guangdong Joint Co-operation Conference in Jiangmen.

Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan Hoi Fan will be acting chief executive during Chui’s absence.
The statement said the main objectives of the one-day conference were to push for the liberalisation of trade in services with Guangdong and to promote Hengqin, Nansha and other Guangdong regions as platforms for the diversification of Macau’s economy, as well as to speed up the construction of the new Macau-Guangdong border checkpoint near Canal dos Patos (Duck Channel).
The statement also said the government would continue its talks with the other side about the Macau-Guangdong yacht travel scheme, environmental protection, and the cultural development of the two regions. (macaunews/macaupost)
