The Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement Sunday that at the weekend it had checked two suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases but both proved negative.
The two cases included a local woman who returned from South Korean on Saturday, according to the statement. The bureau did not give any details on the other case.
The bureau also said in the statement that the Disease Control and Prevention Centre (CDC) was still trying to contact a man from South Korea who was on the same Asiana Airlines flight OZ723 from Seoul to Hong Kong on May 26 as his compatriot who was confirmed as the mainland’sfirst MERS patient and is currently being treated in Huizhou city in Guangdong province.(macaunews/macaupost)
