Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On will attend a plenary session of the Legislative Assembly (AL) on November 11 to give a wrap-up of his work during his first five-year term and present a “mini-budget” for the first quarter of next year.
He expects to spend about 45 minutes in the legislature’s hemicycle.
Chui’s office spokesman Charles Lam Io Pak made the announcement to The Macau Post Daily over the phone Tuesday.
Lam also said there would be no Q&A session after the wrap-up and budget presentation.
Legislative Assembly President Ho Iat Seng told the media last week that Chui should consider allowing lawmakers to raise questions on his work after Chui announced the decision to the media for the first time on October 8.
Chui told reporters that because of the upcoming changes in his team of policy secretaries he would not, as usual, deliver his policy address for next year in the legislature in November.
Customarily, the five policy secretaries present details of their respective portfolios to the legislature in November after the chief executive’s policy address for the next year.
Meanwhile, the chief executive office said in a statement Tuesday that Chui’s wrap-up will be streamed live on five websites: www.al.gov.mo, www.gov.mo, www.gce.gov.mo, www.gcs.gov.mo and www.youtube.com/macaogcs.
TDM’s TV and radio channels will also run live broadcasts in Chinese and Portuguese. Chui will deliver his wrap-up in Cantonese with simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese.(macaunews/macaupost)
