The weather bureau will consider issuing Typhoon Signal No. 1

The low-pressure area over the Philippines has developed into a tropical depression and will enter within 800km of Macao later today. The weather bureau is considering issuing the Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1 then.

The low-pressure area over the Philippines has developed into a tropical depression, according to the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau’s (SMG) announcement today.

It will enter within 800km of Macao later today and the bureau considers issuing the Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1 then.

It will edge closer to the coast of Guangdong in the next two days and further intensify. Winds in Macao will start to intensify later on Saturday (June 13) and the weather will be unstable on Sunday (June 14).

Members of the public are advised to pay attention to the latest information.
