The traditional Taipa Flea Market, planned to start on Sunday, has been postponed until at least April, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Thursday.
Due to the government’s novel coronavirus prevention measures, it has decided to postpone the first phase of the 2021 Taipa Flea Market. The market was supposed to start this Sunday and run until the end of March but the bureau decided to cancel the first three months of the market and possibly start after 28 March.
The market is usually held Sunday and on public holidays in Largo dos Bombeiros in Taipa. Early this month the bureau held a lucky draw for booths at the market for vendors.
An IAM statement on 6 January said that there would be 23 booths at the market and that there were 28 applicants.
