Macao will be among the regions to witness a cosmic show tonight, announced the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG). Starting at 7:10 pm, the city will get a glimpse of the predicted total lunar eclipse.

Although SMG forecasts that the view will be affected by clouds, the public can still watch the lunar eclipse with the naked eye or with a telescope. As advised by the bureau, the best viewing location will be in Macao’s East or Southeast points.

The total eclipse will occur between 7:10 pm and 7:29 pm, but the whole lunar eclipse will only end at 9:52 pm.

Also coinciding with the total lunar eclipse is the supermoon, which, according to the bureau, is the biggest full moon of the year, when it will be “visually more prominent than usual”.
