Schools are closed until February 10 due to coronavirus cases

The Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) announced that all non-tertiary education schools in Macao will be closed at least until 10th February due to the coronavirus cases.

The Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) announced Friday that all non-tertiary education schools in Macao will be closed at least until 10th February due to the coronavirus cases.

The institution said that schools have to make preparations for students to study at home.

Private tutorial centres and continuing education institutions will also be closed at least until 10th February.

Macau University will also be closed from today, while cultural venues will close from Saturday onwards.

The Cultural Institute Bureau (IC) will also cancel the event “Let’s Celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Rat” and all related activities, scheduled to be held until 9th of February.

The two confirmed cases are in stable condition, while another 17 are in isolation and under observation.
