A Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that one of the two local women killed in a traffic accident in Western Australia near Perth on Sunday was a PSP officer, the Chinese-language Macao Daily News reported Tuesday night, citing a statement by the spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, the victim had joined the Public Security Police last year. The Public Security Police expressed its deepest condolences to the victim’s family. The spokesperson was also quoted as saying that the police would assist the bereaved family. According to the Macau Post Daily, due to privacy reasons, the Public Security Police did not reveal further information on the victim, the statement noted.

The two women from Macau were killed and another from Macau was seriously injured following a collision between their car and a tourist bus on Indian Ocean Drive in Nambung on Sunday, Xinhua and Australia’s state broadcaster ABC reported on Monday.
