City University of Macau (CityU) Rector Zhang Shuguang said Thursdaythat 1,365 students graduated from the private university last year, adding that over 80 per cent of them were able to “locate” their job before graduating, while about 20 per cent opted for further education.
Zhang also told reporters that in order to coordinate with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area (GBA) development, CityU would continue encouraging graduates to develop their careers in the area.
Zhang also pointed out that CityU would actively utilise its connection with Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) to promote academic communication and technological innovation between China and the PSCs.
Zhang made the remarks on the sidelines of a one-day career fair on the CityU campus in Taipa that attracted over 100 companies from the Greater Bay Area, offering over 1,800 vacancies, 70 per cent of them were with local companies.(Macaunews)
