A second confirmed case of the new type of Wuhan coronavirus was diagnosed today in Macau, according to the Government Information Bureau (GCS).

The officials said the information has been provided by the New Coronavirus Contingency Coordination Center.

The patient — a 66-year-old man — is a tourist from Wuhan, who arrived Wednesday in Macau through the Portas do Cerco Border. When crossing the border, his temperature registered 38.7 degree Celsius.

He was sent immediately to the Special Emergency Service of the Conde S. Januário Hospital “for thorough examinations” and the results came back positive for the coronavirus.

On Wednesday, the government had announced Macau’s first Wuhan coronavirus case, with the woman still in the same hospital.

Meanwhile, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced the cancellation of all Chinese New Year events that are scheduled for the next few days.
