The 2023 Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) comes to the Venetian from 17 to 20 August.

Organised by the local government – with support from the National Development and Reform Commission as well as the science, IT and ecology ministries – the four-day event will promote the country’s carbon goals and the development of Macao as a green city.

A series of expert talks and discussions will be offered, as well as business matchmaking for environmental businesses and an exhibition of products and services in categories from green mobility and energy to water management and air quality.

This year’s talks will cover such topics as sustainable tourism and finding innovative solutions for air pollution, waste disposal and wastewater management.

The public will be admitted on the third and fourth days of the event and free shuttle buses will be in operation.

MIECF was first held in 2008 and says it aims to become “an international exchange and cooperation platform that promotes technology transfer and sustainable development for the environmental protection sector.”
