A 67-year-old local woman was confirmed dead after “falling” from a building on Avenida do Conselheiro Borja yesterday morning.

Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wu Man said that officers were notified at about 11 am that a resident had found a person lying on the building’s third-floor podium.

The victim’s family later told the police that the woman, who lived in a flat in the building, was not displaying any unusual behaviour when they left the flat for work at 8 am yesterday. The victim’s family was informed by the police shortly after 11 am that the victim had died after falling from a height.

According to a preliminary examination of the body, the deceased sustained multiple abrasions and fractures, which were caused by “falling from a height”, but the exact cause of death could only be confirmed by a forensic examination.

No suicide note was found at the scene, according to the statement, The Macau Post Daily reported. The city recorded 19 deaths by suicide in the second quarter of this year.
