The Macao government confirmed the city’s 46th COVID-19 case, a 57-year-old Filipino Macao resident early today.
He took Cathay Pacific flight CX906 from Manila, Philippines, to Hong Kong at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday (25th).
After arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport, he took the 2 p.m. ferry for Macao. He felt no discomfort and had no apparent fever at the time of entry.
After sampling at the Taipa Ferry Terminal in Pac On, he was sent to a government-designated hotel for isolation.
His test results today showed that he was positive for COVID-19 and the patient has been admitted to the isolation ward of Conde S. Januário Hospital Centre for treatment. According to a government source, the patient has been classified as an imported case.
Macao has lasted 78 consecutive days with no new cases. The first wave lasted from January 22 until February 4. The second wave began March 15 and lasted until April 8.
The previous waves ended with 45 confirmed COVID-19 cases, all of whom have been discharged. Out of Macao’s now 46 cases, 44 have been classified (SSM) as imported by the Health Bureau, while two have been classified as cases connected to imported ones.
