The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) said in a statement at the weekend that 31 fresh university graduates were recruited at a job-matching session that it held on Saturday.
The session was themed “Overcoming the difficulties caused by the epidemic and creating better job prospects”.
According to the statement, 130 fresh graduated had signed up for the session, but only 95 showed up.
The statement said that the participating companies offered 300 job vacancies, including hotel operations, casino VIP room service, and marketing. The statement pointed out that 31 graduates were recruited at the session for occupations in various areas such as tourism, restaurants, casinos, and dispatch management.
According to statement, the companies said that they failed to recruit staff at the session for various reasons such as that the interviewees asked for a higher salary than on offer or had insufficient language abilities.
