Zhuhai has raised the validity of the negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test (NAT) result for arrivals from Macao to 48 hours from just 24 hours.
According to the Zhuhai health authorities, the measure took effect at 6 am today.
Since Zhuhai lifted its seven-day hotel quarantine for arrivals from Macao on 3 August, travellers entering Zhuhai from Macao have had to present a NAT certificate confirming a negative Covid-19 result valid for just 24 hours.
Zhuhai imposed its hotel quarantine requirement for arrivals from Macao after the detection of Macao’s latest Covid-19 outbreak that began on 18 June. After the outbreak subsided in late July, Zhuhai lifted the quarantine for arrivals from Macao on 3 August.
Zhuhai health authorities said they decided to “dynamically” adjust the NAT validity for arrivals from Macao in compliance with “the latest Covid-19 developments”.
The negative NAT result for those entering Macao from Zhuhai remains valid for 48 hours, The Macau Post Daily reported.
