A special subsistence team has been mobilised to help senior citizens who are struggling under lockdown conditions at Fai Fu Building, a social housing estate for the elderly in Fai Chi Kei.

The Social Affairs Bureau noted that there are 556 senior citizens living in the building, and 80 need special care. The Health Bureau and the Social Affairs Bureau will work with the Brilho da Vida Elderly Centre to provide the relevant services, such as delivering special meals, and medicines, providing personal care, nucleic acid test (NAT), dialysis, as well as providing 24-hour emergency support.

Starting today, the subsistence team will provide breakfast suitable for the elderly and arrange two hot meals a day. The team will also provide vegetable and frozen meat food packs to the senior citizens who prefer to cook for themselves, The Macau Post Daily reported.
