Shun Tak’s losses widened during the last financial year

The group’s hospitality and transport divisions saw profits, but overall the group lost more in 2023 than it did in 2022.

Shun Tak Holdings Limited has declared a consolidated loss attributable to owners of the company of HK$677 million (US$86.5 million) for the year ending 31 December 2023. 

In a regulatory filing, it said that the loss had widened from HK$558 million (US$71.3 million) in 2022. Shun Tak posted a basic loss per share of HK$0.22 (US$0.028) compared with the previous year’s HK$0.18 (US$0.023) and no dividends will be paid.

Revenue amounted to HK$4 billion (US$511 million) compared to 2022’s HK$3.4 billion (US$434 billion).

The group noted that its property division recorded a profit of HK$882 million (US$112.7), down from 2022’s HK$1.1 billion (US$140.5 million).

The hospitality division – which encompasses properties in Macao, Hong Kong, mainland China and Singapore – posted a loss of HK$74 million (US$9.4 million), an improvement on the previous year’s loss of HK$156 million (US$19.9 million)

Shun Tak’s transport division, which includes TurboJet ferries, posted a HK$10 million (US$1.2 million) profit.
