Macao’s hotel occupancy rates reached 91 percent in July 2025, representing a 1.9 percent rise compared to the same time last year, according to the Statistics and Census Bureau.
Occupancy for 5-star and 4-star hotels rose 2.3 and 2.6 percent respectively, while 3-star hotels saw a 0.2 percent drop.

The total number of available rooms increased by 1.0 percent to a total of 45,000, while the number of guests also grew by 4.0 percent to 1,283,000. Compared to July last year, the average length of stay remained at 1.6 nights.
Local accommodation experienced a 4.0 percent increase in number of guests compared to the same time last year, reaching 1,282,500.

By place of origin, the number of hotel guests from mainland China rose 3.9 percent to 957,700, while those from Hong Kong increased 5.7 percent to 168,000. Local Macao residents were the third largest group of hotel guests at 41,100 despite decreasing in number by 4.6 percent compared to July last year.
In total, Macao’s hotels have seen approximately 8,486,000 guests since the start of the year. The country of origin with the greatest increase in guests year-on-year was Japan at 13.6 percent, followed by Korea at 12.2 percent and Thailand at 11.1 percent. The number of guests hailing from those three countries this month reached 53,400, 194,100, and 43,900 respectively.
