Gross gaming revenue in Macau rose 2.6 percent in October to 27.3 billion patacas (US$ 3.4 billion) from a year earlier, according to data released Thursday by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
It is the highest monthly amount since October 2014, when casino gross gaming revenue in Macau stood at 28.03 billion patacas (US$ 3.5 billion).
Macau gaming revenue for the first 10 months of 2018 stood at approximately MOP 251.38 billion, up 14.3 percent from the prior-year period, according to DICJ data.
The casino revenues has slumped in recent months after a two-year rally.
It is down more than 40 percent from a May peak, touching a 20-month low on Tuesday.
Macau’s six gaming and gambling concession holders had 41 casinos at the end of the first half, of which 22 were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, five by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown (Macau), two by Wynn Resorts, and two by MGM Grand Paradise, with 6,586 gaming tables and 17,296 slot machines.
Two of the Sociedade de Jogos de Macau’s casinos – Macau Palace and Greek Mythology – are provisionally suspended, according to the DICJ.
