Travellers can now fly to South Korea’s capital aboard the country’s flagship carrier. Daily flights currently depart Macao’s international airport at 1.10 am and touch down in Seoul’s Incheon airport at 6 am (local time).
Return flights leave Incheon each day at 9.15 pm and are set to arrive in the SAR just before midnight. Korean Air’s inaugural Seoul-Macao flight took about 3 hours and 50 minutes on Monday and its passengers were greeted by Macao’s tourism mascot Mak Mak on arrival.
The Macao Government Tourism Office said in a statement that South Korea’s international visitor market held “great potential for new growth” and that media delegates from the country were currently touring the SAR’s attractions.

“Korean Air’s new flight service between Seoul and Macao is expected to elevate the city’s attraction for high-end Korean travellers and lead to a growing number of visitor arrivals from Korea,” it noted.
Official figures show Korea was Macao’s largest international visitor market and fourth largest visitor market between January and May this year, according to the statement – which also noted that MGTO has partnered with Korea Air to offer discounted flight tickets for a period, hoping to boost these numbers further.
Korean Air’s entry to the market brought the number of direct flights between Macao and Seoul up to 35 each week. The other airlines flying the route are Air Macau and low-cost South Korean carriers Jin Air and Jeju Air.
