Macao’s 10th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) is set to take place at the Galaxy International Convention Center later this month – after a two-year hiatus.

The four-day event gathers top officials, ministers of culture and tourism, industry leaders, decision-makers and scholars from around the world, according to an official statement.

This year’s speakers include Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation Zurab Pololikashvili, China’s Minister for Culture and Tourism Hu Heping, and Italy’s Minister of Tourism Daniela Garnero Santanchè. The full lineup can be found here.

Under the rubric of “Destination 2030: Unlocking the Power of Tourism for Business and Development,” GTEF 2023 will run from 20-23 September in a hybrid online-offline format.

“Participants will explore new ways of constructing a resilient, high-quality and people-oriented environment for the tourism industry in the new normal through innovative and sustainable international cooperation,” the statement read.

GTEF 2023 will also include Macao’s second Investment and Financing Conference.
