Francis Lui Yiu Tung, vice chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), was named the most influential person in Asia’s gaming industry for the third consecutive year at the 2021 Inside Asian Gaming Power 50 Gala Dinner at Wynn Palace Macau in Cotai last Friday.
Inside Asian Gaming Power 50 is a list of the 50 most influential and powerful people in the region’s gaming industry. Kevin Kelley, chief operating officer of GEG, was also included in the list.
According to GEG, Lui is dedicated to “facilitating the economic diversification of Macao” and the sustainable development of the city’s integrated resorts industry through presenting distinct facilities and products, as well as original concepts.
Lui expressed gratitude to the community, the government’s Covid-19 control and prevention measures, the work of frontline workers and the public for their support, commenting: “I’d also like to encourage everyone to support the Macao SAR government’s call and get vaccinated as soon as possible and help the community achieve herd immunity so that our community can become more stabilised and for mainland tourists to feel reassured on their travels to Macao”.
Lui added: “We will also continue to proactively support the Macao SAR government’s directions and measures to foster the city’s economic diversification and its development as a world centre of tourism and leisure.”
Lui, 66, is the son of GEG founder Lui Che Woo. He holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and a master of science degree in structural engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, The Macau Post Daily reported.
