The 67th Macau Grand Prix will start on Saturday without two of the main races that used to bring to Macao international drivers
WTT Macao 2020, organised by the local Sports Bureau (ID) and World Table Tennis (WTT) in conjunction with the Macau Table Tennis General Association, will be held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion this month.
The 67th Macau Grand Prix has been reduced to five racing categories and shortened to three days, from 20 to 22 November.
According to information provided by the Sports Bureau (ID), 37 racers and their team members competing in this year’s Macau Grand Prix (MGP) have so far been covered by the Macao government’s 14-day quarantine requirement.
This year’s Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix would possibly be cancelled, as more and more foreign riders have told the Macao government over the past week that they would not come to the city to compete due to the city’s 14-day quarantine requirement.
The government plans to redevelop its Taipa Northeast Sports Centre by converting it from a one-storey into a five-storey building.
The government now believes that the number of foreign racers competing in this year’s Macau Grand Prix (MGP) will be “much less” than what was originally expected.
The Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee (MGPOC) has established that the number of team members accompanying each driver or rider is five maximum during this year’s Macau Grand Prix.
