Macao’s waterfront will take on a greener hue from this June with the opening of the first phase of the park near the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre in NAPE.
The finishing touches are now being applied with the installation of exercise and children’s play equipment, according to the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM).
The overall plan envisages a 15,000 square metres waterside park stretching from the Macao Science Museum to Barra, with a 400-metre shaded walking and jogging trail by the Kun Iam statue in NAPE.
Once completed, the multipurpose park will include a children’s entertainment area, trails, terraces, sports fields, an area for exercise equipment, and a roller skating rink.
The multipurpose sports field can be used for basketball or soccer and by all ages.
The consultation plan for the second phase of the park is expected to be completed this year, according to the authorities.
