The 2024 MGM Macao International Regatta will be held across four days in January, drawing 300 sailors from 28 territories around the world to compete, the Sports Bureau has announced.
The bureau, which is collaborating with concessionaire MGM and Ursa Major Sailing Event Management to organise the event, said that judges from the International Sailing Federation had been invited to arbitrate the three main competitions.
There are the Macao Cup International Regatta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cup Regatta and the International Catamaran Invitational.

The first two competitions will be held in waters just south of Hac Sa Beach, while the latter will take place south of the Inner Harbour Channel (near the Macau Science Center).
The bureau said it hoped the regatta would help “showcase Macao as a city with a rich maritime history, to promote sailing sports and to enhance the development of Macao.”
The 2024 MGM Macao International Regatta is scheduled to take place between 11 and 14 January. It will include a fleet parade and photography contest, with the aim of raising the public’s awareness of marine sports.
