The inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) Macau tournament has released its schedule, featuring 12-events with buy-ins beginning at HK$5,000 (US$640) and going as high as HK$200,000 (US$25,540).

The tournament, which is being held at Wynn Palace, begins on 18 June with a HK$8,000 (US$1,020) SuperStack event and a HK$50,000 (US$6,380) Mini High Roller, while the HK$40,000 (US$5,100) WPT Macau Championship event begins on 20 June.

Programme highlights include a HK$100,000 (US$12,760) High Roller and HK$200,000 (US$25,530) Super High Roller, with the tournament concluding on 24 June.

WPT Macau is the third destination on the WPT’s Asia tour after Australia and Cambodia, and has “long been a sought-after destination” for the tour, WPT CEO Adam Pliska said earlier. He promised punters “an incredible event.”

After a six-year hiatus, competitive poker returned to Macao in March this year, with the Macao Masters event organised by Sands China at the Venetian. Casinos in the SAR stopped hosting poker events after China’s crackdown on online poker in 2018.
