Gross gaming revenue (GGR) at Macao’s casinos last month increased by 513.9 percent year-on-year from 2.48 billion patacas to 15.21 billion patacas, according to the latest figures from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The June total was down slightly from the GGR in May, which stood at 15.56 billion patacas. Accumulated revenue stood at 80.14 billion patacas, up 205.1 percent year-on-year.
Monthly GGR remains lower than pre-pandemic totals. By comparison, the monthly figure generally stood above 20 billion patacas from 2017 until the onset of Covid-19 at the start of 2020.

The government has set a target of 130 billion in GGR for 2023. Many analysts believe the territory is capable of generating as much as 168 billion patacas, however.
The Financial Services Bureau meanwhile said earlier this month that 20.7 billion patacas in gaming taxes were collected between January and May, representing almost 80 percent of revenue collected.
Nearly 60 billion patacas in gaming taxes will be collected in 2023, according to projections.
