The Spa at Wynn Palace. High expectations for that one, as for all things Wynn.
A very high bar indeed. And yet, trust me, this sybaritic retreat in glittery Cotai will not disappoint. Designed with the royal residences of China’s storied dynasties in mind – think hand-painted murals and lion statues – the spa houses 22 treatment rooms, eight of which are VIP executive suites. On its spa menu you’ll find treatments from massages to facials and sculpting treatments. You can also book personal training and yoga sessions.
Wynn claims its Palace spa is the largest in the city.
Were you lucky enough to snag a VIP executive suite?
Yes indeed. Besides an adjoining massage room, my executive spa suite featured a large bathtub and shower room, as well as a lounge area with magazines, fruit and freshly brewed tea. Oh, and let’s not forget the skincare provided by the leading Spanish brand, Natura Bissé.
What treatment should I book? Looking to beat the post Euro summer blues.
Well, it might surprise you that what brought me to Wynn Palace Spa was not a life-affirming massage, but rather a series of high-tech, touchless treatments like float therapy and red light therapy offered at their EliteKinesio Medical Centre.

I’m all about health hacks.
Great – these are the celebrity-approved health hacks designed to counter the weary demands of modern living. I tried four of the spa’s technological touchless treatments. The first was cryotherapy, i.e. standing in a -85 °C chamber for three minutes. Then came float therapy, which is half an hour of drifting about in a pod filled with concentrated Epsom salt water. Next came red light therapy, with red and near-infrared LEDs illuminating the body from head to toe. And finally, sound and vibration therapy – an experience utilising sonic and vibrational techniques.

Which did you enjoy the most?
The float therapy was definitely a highlight. With minimal sensory input, it was a rare chance to clear the mind. Sixty minutes of floating effortlessly in a pod filled with skin-temperature water, calming music playing softly underwater… The concentrated Epsom salt not only enhances buoyancy but also helps relax muscles and ease tension.
Though it wasn’t without a bit of sacrifice (-75°C is really cold), cryotherapy was a mind-blowing experience. Guided by one of the spa’s attentive therapists, you step into the chamber and instantly feel a shock to the nervous system. But the bitter cold gives way to a refreshing rush; you step out feeling energised and alert.
Initially, I doubted I could stay in the chamber for the full three minutes, as the therapist challenged me, but I’m happy to report that I was able to hit that mark. Will you?
Love a challenge. What else did you do?
I was lucky to be in the hands of Cary Lam, the medical centre’s leading physical therapist who is specialised in visceral manipulation, movement training and whole-body fascia balancing. The latter focuses on the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs.
Lam assessed my posture, movement patterns and areas of tension before applying a mix of mobilisation, stretching and myofascial release techniques – a tailored approach that really helped with some long-time issues, like a stiff shoulder.
Anything else you recommend doing while there?
How do services from a high-end beauty clinic brand from South Korea sound? Blanc De Vie, one of Seoul’s most reputable clinics, has an outpost at Wynn Palace and offers a myriad of treatments, including anti-aging and skin firming. I haven’t yet had the chance to try it, but it’s on my wellness bucket list.
Always a good addition, K-beauty. Your parting plug.
Despite being set within the high-stakes razzle-dazzle of the Cotai Strip, The Spa at Wynn Palace offered us authentic moments of disconnect and a deep sense of rejuvenation. From the opulent spa with every modern comfort, to the touchless treatments at the EliteKinesio Medical Centre and caring therapists, every step of our experience was thoughtfully curated for a truly restorative experience.
