The first tranche of tickets for the upcoming National Games, National Games for People with Disabilities (NGD) and National Special Olympics Games (NSOG) will go on sale 28 August via official platforms, according to reports in local Chinese-language media. The National Games, which are cohosted by Guangdong province, Macao and Hong Kong, are scheduled to kickoff from 9 November.

Pre-registrations are now open on the National Games’ dedicated ticketing website, while you can pre-register for the combined 12th NGD and the 9th NSOG’s events here. Designated ticket offices will also sell paper tickets from 28 August.

The websites can be used by residents of Macao, Hong Kong and the mainland, but buyers must show valid credentials for travelling to events located outside of their home region (such as a mainland travel permit to visit Guangdong), according to a statement from Hong Kong officials.

A real-name registration system will be used for online ticket purchases to combat scalping, though all e-tickets will be able to be transferred once – under real-name authentication via the official online ticketing platforms – 24 hours before the start of the event.

A total of more than 350,000 tickets will be available for sporting events taking place at Macao’s 7 designated venues, according to Pan Yongquan, director of the Macao Coordination Office for the 15th National Games, the 12th NGD and and the 9th NSOG.

Speaking at a press conference in Guangzhou on Wednesday, Pan said that prices would range from 80 to 800 yuan (about 90 to 910 patacas) for Macao’s National Games events, and from 10 and 50 yuan (about 15 to 60 patacas) for the city’s NGD and NSOG events. Popular events will be limited to 3 tickets per order and regular events will allow up to 6 tickets per order.

Events hosted by Macao will include table tennis, women’s volleyball, 5X5 and 3X3 basketball, karate, and two badminton events – one for the NGD, the other for the NSOG.

This edition of National Games will feature 34 competitive events and 23 mass participation events in total, with Macao athletes taking part in 19 of the former and 12 of the latter.
