The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) hoisted the No.1 typhoon signal at 0:30 a.m. today on the 1 August.
The signal was hoisted, as Tropical Cyclone Nida was 800 kilometres east-southeast of the city at around midnight. It was heading north-west at about 20 kilometres per hour, threatening to bring with it strong winds and heavy rain.
According to the bureau’s website, based on the current trajectory of the storm, the bureau said that the No. 1 signal might be replaced by the No.3 signal, depending on the situation later during the day.
Meanwhile, the No. 1 signal was hoisted in Hong Kong at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday. (Macau News/ The Macau Post Daily)
